Zellis Data Breach Compensation.

You may be entitled to compensation if you have been employed by one of the following compensation over the last couple of years: BBC, Boots, British Airways, DHL, DPD, AON, MOVEit.

What happened?

These companies have each suffered a data breach. Their payroll service, Zellis, was attacked via a cyberattack, and very sensitive information has been accessed by confirmed malicious actors.

With the rise of data breaches throughout the years, this has unfortunately become all too common. This can result in substantial distress for individuals that are affected. Not only do they risk having their personal details leaked, which could be anything from an address to financial information, they have to live unsure of what people may be doing with this information.

How did this happen?

Zellis is a payroll service that many big companies in the UK use to pay their employees. However, it has since fallen victim to a data breach due to a vulnerability in its software. This breach exposed the financial data of many employees of the companies that use Zellis, which, of course, is a massive cause for concern.

Not only this, but we learned not too long after who the culprits were. They are a Russian hacker group named “Clop Gang”, and they themselves confirmed that their attack is highly malicious.

Clop is the name of a type of virus that is especially malicious – it holds your information and sometimes even your entire system hostage for a cash price. If the price is not met, then they will follow through with a threat.

In this case, that threat was leaking the vital information that they managed to access. This threat was made publically and has since been confirmed by Zellis, leaving no cause for doubt.

Since the threat, a huge investigation by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) and the UK National Cyber Security Centre has been launched. In the meanwhile, however, an untold number of employees are left in fear for the safety of their information, and the stability of their finances, which they rely on to feed their families.
